Hey team! Whore School is coming up! Not just a workshop on the business of sex, this is a resistance gathering against the patriarchal upheaval that continuously places women as cattle to be bought and sold, with no say in either direction.
As the anticipation builds, I am being as if I am doing an online class or teaching outside of New York. The answer is, all that is in the works! But first, let’s focus on what is scheduled to happen on Monday March 6th! The event is free with a suggested donation for the bookstore. As of now most if not all of the seats at the venue are sold out. Anyone coming in will have to stand. But I will have a mic in an already tiny space so you will all be fine!
March is Womxn’s Hxstory Month. And March 8th is International Womxn’s History day! And it marks A Day Without A woman. “recognizing the enormous value that women of all backgrounds add to our socio-economic system–while receiving lower wages and experiencing greater inequities, vulnerability to discrimination, sexual harassment, and job insecurity. We recognize that trans and gender nonconforming people face heightened levels of discrimination, social oppression and political targeting. We believe in gender justice.”
To stand in solidarity, it is suggested that we all wear red on that day. And I have the perfect red product for you that not only supports my effort in teaching this class to dismantle patriarchy, but to support the work of my new organization.
In order to raise money for my organization The Black Sex Worker Collective‘s start up costs (website, promo materials and to organize our first action to help at least one person in our community who is need a month) please consider purchasing one of our Tshirts. It helps support the great sex working community and artist (me) to continue to do this work and educate audiences globally about sex work. This class is a series of classes and workshops intended to not only normalize the trade and the people in it, but to understand the similarities we all have in business and life. I want it to facilitate open and honest discussions about sex work and existing in a sexually suppressed society. This workshop is the basic in a series that will accompany it later in the year and aims to educate those in and out of the trades about labor rights and legalities in adult entertainment.
There is much to learn and much to talk about. Come to the shop, buy some books, some coffee, tea and other treats. And make sure to buy a shirt! I would love if they were purchased in advanced so I would know how much to bring with me on the day of. But they will be available for purchase on the night of the talk. Sizes are limited and so are colors. You can pre-order for the next batch if we are low!
See you soon!
